Record Executives Hoping Taylor Swift's Speak Now Sells a Million in First Week

Taylor Swift's fans can't wait to hear her new album, Speak Now, when it lands in stores October 25th, but record executives are looking forward to the release for a different reason. It's been more than two years since an album debuted with more than a million copies sold in the first week, and many are betting Taylor is the one to break that drought.

Billboard.com points to some inside sources claiming Taylor's record label plans to ship 1.5 million units in the first week, with projections of 750 thousand copies sold. Other executives who wish to remain anonymous says the success of Taylor's new single, "Mine," at multiple radio formats could be the key to Speak Now going platinum in the first week. "Mine" will hit the airwaves on August 16th.
